FAQ’s for Saturday’s EPIC 50 ride
Are there ID requirements to enter the event?
Please bring an ID to check-in Saturday morning, 7-9am at the Equestrian Parking Lot. The start is a “rolling start” from 7-9am. Please allow yourself enough time to get to the lunch or turn-around spot of your choice.
What are my parking options getting to the event?
Please park at the Equestrian lot in front of the campground.
Your Epic 50 ticket does not permit you to enter the campground at any time this weekend.
The Santos Trails on the Cross Florida Greenway is a Florida State Park. All trails are open to the public daily, including Festival weekend. Trails are well marked for self paced exploration and set for every skill level throughout the Greenway [See map below]. Check out the Bike Expo Schedule for skills classes, activities and guided group rides. Consider test riding a demo bike from one of our world-class vendors while you are here.
All trails are marked with colored markers- carsonites. Yellow indicates entry level riding, wider trails with minimal obstacles (Pine Tree, Dog Bone). Blue indicates a moderately increased level of riding, including turns and hills (Bunny, Marshmallow, Cow Bone, Twister). Red trails are for advanced riders with challenging obstacles and elevation changes (Sink Hole, Vortex). The Vortex area is an advanced area with Expert features. Please ride with your head, not over it. Helmets are required on everyone at all times. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport in a natural setting.
At the main trailhead postcard maps (LINK) will be provided of the Santos Trails. Two loops marked in green paper arrows will guide you around either a one-mile (“Shorty”) loop, or three mile (“Bunny”) if you are unfamiliar with the trails. The loops are perfect for demo riding a bike from the Expo.
The Ocala Mountain Bike Association has a very active Bike Patrol. Patrol Bikers will be wearing red jerseys or patches with a white cross. They are here to educate, assist, and inform riders. Feel free to ask for directions or assistance!
